Articles | Benidorm Travel Guide
One of the most popular travel destinations in Spain, Benidorm is visited by tourists from all over the world for their summer holidays, and for good reason. The sunshine is abundant, the seaside heavenly and the food excellent. With cheap flights to Spain readily available from airlines such as Monarch and BA and accommodation prices reasonable, Benidorm is a first class travel destination.
What to do - Boasting “one of the top shows in Europe”, the Benidorm Palace puts on a daily dance show and offers catering for everyone from couples to large groups and is a must see if you’re in the area and enjoy shows. Benidorm, lying in the Valencia region, is located right on the coast with many hotels literally having sand on their doorsteps, leaving you free to step out onto the rolling miles of golden sand. Most holiday goers are happy to sunbathe, but for the more active ones there’s water sports on offer as well as fishing and diving trips. Head into the old town for some quaint shops and locals delicacies.
Where to Stay – Benidorm is home to many great hotels, all offering good value for money and most able to cater for their guests. Prices vary as ever and if you’re looking to tighten the purse strings you’ll want to shop around for the best deal, but if money’s no great issue and you’re willing to spend a little then you’ll find a hotel to suit your needs. The Marconi Hotel is located right on the beach front facing the picturesque Peacock Island. Basic but popular, the Marconi is well worth a look and is decent value for money.
The Food – Above all the most exciting thing about enjoying Spanish holidays is the food. The tapas style cuisine is popular the world over due to its succulent flavours and the ability to try a lot of different dishes all at once. Look out for Chorizo Riojana, Patata Brava, Tortilla and Calamari, the most popular dishes on the menu and all well worth a look on your Spanish holiday.
